Damage Output

But the MP9’s armor penetration is only marginally smaller, at 60%.
Still, the MP9 isn’t completely out of the race. Its lower damage is balanced out by its insane rate of fire (more on that later). So while the MP7 may hit harder, the MP9’s sheer volume of bullets can make up for it.
Rate of Fire
If speed is your game, the MP9 is your weapon. With a jaw-dropping fire rate of 857 rounds per minute, this baby spits bullets faster than your teammate complains about “lag” after missing an AWP shot. In comparison, the MP7 clocks in at a still-impressive but slightly slower 750 rounds per minute.
What does this mean in practice? The MP9 is a monster in close-quarters combat. If you’re pushing through tight spaces like Banana on Inferno or Apartments on Mirage, that extra speed can mean the difference between mowing down two Ts or being traded out. The MP7, while not as fast, offers a more measured approach, giving you a bit more control over your spray.
The MP9’s high fire rate is a blessing and a curse, though. You’ll burn through ammo faster than a Twitch streamer burns through donations. So, if you’re rocking the MP9, make sure to keep an eye on your clip and always be ready for a quick reload. Both guns have the same mag size (30) and reserve ammo (120), by the way.
Recoil and Accuracy
Let’s talk about recoil, the great equalizer of SMG battles. The MP9’s recoil pattern is… well, let’s call it “spirited.” If you don’t know what you’re doing, it’ll have your crosshair dancing like it’s a nightclub in Dust 2. However, with a bit of practice, you can master its spray pattern and turn that wild kick into a focused barrage of bullets.
On the flip side, the MP7 recoil pattern is more predictable and easier to control, even during sustained fire. This makes it a solid choice for players who value precision and don’t want to spend hours in aim trainers learning spray control.
The accurate range is comparable in both guns, with 14 meters for the MP9 and 16 meters in the case of the MP9. However, with the MP9’s wild spray pattern and RPM, those extra 2 meters won’t really give you that much of an advantage.
Mobility
When it comes to mobility, the MP9 is the Usain Bolt of CS2. Its lightweight design allows you to zip around the map at a speed of 240 units per second, compared to the MP7’s slightly slower 220 units per second. That extra mobility might not sound like much, but in a game where every fraction of a second counts, it can be a game-changer.
The MP9’s running speed is the same as that of a pistol like the P250 or the P2000, and only slightly lower than that of the Glock-18 (250). Still, the MP7, while slightly slower, still offers respectable mobility, making it a solid choice for those who prefer a more balanced approach.
Economy
